How many people does your fridge need to feed?
One and a half. My roommate lives here part-time.
What do you usually eat for breakfast?
At work I'll have tea. I don't eat breakfast here.
Is there anything you eat every day?
I definitely drink tea every day.
Chocolate and salmon. And probably Brussels sprouts, which is bizarre, but I order them a lot at restaurants.
What item are you forbidden from purchasing right now?
Anything with MSG.
What’s the most delicious thing in here?
My favorite is the Bionade soda. It's an organic German soda that's not found in the US. That's why there's so many of them in there—I'm collecting them! There are three different flavors: elderberry, which is my favorite, lychee, and ginger orange. Friends from Germany will come and sometimes bring me some. I've also gone to Europe, met them, and brought some back. I've been hoarding it.
The most disgusting?
There's some really old chocolate that I should just trash. But it’s chocolate: I can't throw it away, on the one hand, but then I don't want to eat it...
I don't know how long that tin of coffee has been in there.
Anything you regret buying?
Anything perishable that I just can't finish. Like the soymilk—I'm not going to finish it before it expires. I'm not here often enough.
What's your guilty pleasure?
Anything salty, like chips.
Where do you do most of your food shopping?
Trader Joe's on 72nd.
How much do you spend on groceries each week?
Monthly, maybe $40 or $50? I eat almost all my meals out, for convenience. Or I use Seamless Web.
Is there anything in here that we would have found in your childhood fridge?
The frozen corn and the lemon juice.
What do you wish you had in here?
Right now I’m craving chicken apple sausages. They’re really good, I’m just too lazy to go out and get them right now.
Tiffany works in finance and lives in Morningside Heights. She’s holding a bottle of Elderberry Bionade, her favorite soda in her favorite flavor.
